More Korean nationalism, and with inaccurate information too. The “baby arrow” and “bamboo guide” was not comparable to a matchlock rifle. They had the advantage of flying further and faster and being harder to track because they were smaller, lighter, and more aerodynamic, but they were much less damaging because they lacked the mass and piercing power of normal arrows. Also, they could only be fired a specific way, and versatility is a major factor on the battlefield. They were by no means better than normal arrows, especially at the same range and against the same target.

Yes. Such technology existed even back then, but the author seems to be obsessed with just Korean history, so I doubt they would know or care. Look up “Gotz of the Iron Hand” if you want to learn about it yourself.
