Log In to CommentI get the whole “the elites and government are corrupt and can’t be trusted” angle. But in this case, revealing his hidden OP class would probably have solved most of his immediate problems. He would’ve gotten better rewards, more recognition and protection, and that gang probably wouldn’t be casually threatening his family now.
That’s what annoys me about this trope in so many manhwas. The MC always assumes the absolute worst will happen if anyone finds out, even when the story itself already has precedents showing that people with powerful or rare classes don’t automatically get imprisoned, experimented on, or controlled by the government.
This is my advice after a case of attempted murder over jealousy. The country and all those authority figures who praised me immediately turned their backs and some even made friends with the person who tried to kill me. I've been crippled for nearly 20 years now. My compensation was cancelled because, although I was deathly ill at the time, according to the examiner I've completely recovered and can be kicked off the program. He told me to reapply if I still needed it... but the court was closed for the next 2 years and did not take any applications at all. And even if I could reapply, he's the one who'd be examining my health.
If you ever do something special or gain a rare award, don't flaunt it. In fact, tell people you've had it taken from you and you don't know why, but you've decided to just let it go. Unless you absolutely trust them with your life. Because if you don't it might be the last time you ever have a good day ever again.
Good thing they are already in a hospital!
