To be completely honest, I was slightly annoyed that the mom left, but the next second I remembered she was still thinking of him as her normal and simple kid. As other people already mentioned, a middle schooler going missing for that long without contact, whether powerful or not, would worry anyone. It doesn’t even have to be your kid; kids do stupid things thinking they’ll be fine and alright. Add power, and I’d imagine it would be worse. Not to mention the dad got out earlier than expected because of a shitty officer, and they even moved to a completely new area. So she didn’t even consider those possibilities. We’re looking at it differently because we have more information, like the MC’s regression and the dad’s apparent connections.
