The day of the “Attribute” assessment when you turn 10.
A boy raised in an orphanage, dreaming of becoming an adventurer—Light was granted the rare attribute of Light, which appears once in every 1,000 people.
However, while it was rare, the Light attribute was called a “failure attribute.”
…Because the light magic learned from the Light attribute had absolutely no offensive power!
──Eventually, Light, who had become the adventurer he had always dreamed of, was mocked as the “specialist in parasitism” and the “walking torch,” but he continued to train his Light magic to the extreme.
Then, when he reached the near-max level of [Light] attribute at Level 9──.
After his training, with an immense amount of magical power, his childhood friend Saya appeared and requested to accompany him to an AAA difficulty dungeon…
Little did he know, this would turn into the worst expedition of his life…

Perhaps the story starts like this:
Saya, who had been training with him since childhood, was a skilled warrior with exceptional combat prowess. She had been his partner and confidante, and Light had never imagined that she would ask him to join her on a perilous quest. He was both excited and nervous about the opportunity to test his Light magic against the dangers of the dungeon.
As they set foot into the dungeon, they were met with an ominous feeling. The entrance was shrouded in an eerie darkness, and the air was thick with an otherworldly energy. Saya’s eyes gleamed with determination, but Light could sense a hint of trepidation behind her gaze.
The dungeon’s map was a labyrinthine mess of twisting corridors and treacherous paths. Light and Saya consulted their maps and decided to take the most direct route, but they soon found themselves lost in the winding maze.
It was then that they stumbled upon a group of shadowy figures, their eyes glowing like embers in the dark. They seemed to be watching Light and Saya with an unnerving intensity, their very presence making Light’s Light magic feel weak and ineffectual.
“You’re not serious, are you?” one of the shadowy figures spoke, their voice dripping with malevolence. “This Light magic of yours is nothing but a jest?”
Light bristled at the mocking, but before he could respond, Saya stepped forward, her sword flashing with a battle cry. “We’re here to prove it!”
The battle was fierce and chaotic, with the shadowy figures seeming to appear from nowhere, their attacks coming from the very walls and floor themselves. Saya fought valiantly, her skill and training evident in every blow, but even her prowess was not enough to counter the relentless onslaught of the shadowy figures. They seemed to be absorbing Saya’s attacks, their bodies reassembling themselves with an otherworldly speed. Light’s Light magic, on the other hand, was having a harder time keeping up. He strained to channel his power, but it felt like the magic was being siphoned away from him, leaving him feeling drained and weak.
Just when it seemed like all was lost, Light remembered the words of his old mentor, a wise old man who had taught him to harness his Light magic. He recalled the concept of “Reflection” – a technique that allowed him to redirect his opponent’s energy back at themselves. With newfound determination, Light focused his mind and activated the Reflection technique.
The shadowy figures, sensing their advantage, pressed forward with renewed ferocity. But Light was ready. He reflected their attacks back at them, and the figures were caught off guard, their own attacks rebounding against themselves. Saya, taking advantage of the opening, charged forward with a battle cry, her sword slicing through the figures with deadly precision.
The tide of the battle began to shift, with Light’s Light magic and Saya’s combat prowess proving to be a formidable combination. The shadowy figures started to falter, their numbers dwindling as they stumbled backward. But just as victory seemed within their grasp, one of the figures spoke up, its voice like a cold, calculating whisper.
“…You may have won this small battle, adventurers. But the true test is far from over. The dungeon’s true master is only just beginning to stir…”
The figure’s words sent a shiver down Light’s spine. He had heard rumors of an entity known as the “Dungeon Heart”, a being of immense power that lay at the heart of the dungeon. He had always thought it to be mere myth, but now he was faced with the terrible reality of it.
Saya’s eyes locked onto Light, her gaze filled with a mix of fear and determination. “What do we do now?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Light’s answer was laced with a quiet resolution. “We press on. We must face whatever lies within the heart of the dungeon, no matter the cost.”
