yeah, the novel didn’t skip the second regression. In the novel, they go around challenging a bunch of sects and then establish a faction opposing cultivators, which ultimately gets obliterated when 50 Qi Building cultivators (the stage after Qi Condensation, which is the level Kim Young-hoon fought in the first regression) show up and basically nuke them. Seo Eun-hyun and Kim Young-hoon both escape separately, and Seo Eun-hyun establishes an intelligence organization. Eventually Kim Young-hoon comes back with twelve more Severing Mountain sword forms plus his own personal technique called the Record of Gazing Cultivation and Exceeding Martial Arts, which Seo Eun-hyun memorizes so he can give it to Kim Young-hoon in his next regression and continue exploiting his infinite martial arts glitch. Kim Young-hoon then dips permanently after helping Seo Eun-hyun achieve Sword-Body Unity, and Seo Eun-hyun spends the rest of his life practicing the sword.
