If Kai is a pre-isekai assassin, shouldn’t the knowledge of bullets and how to make them, be a common sense for him? For cases like this – running out of bullets and unable to obtain more the usual way. Because this little problem undermines his entire experience and makes his character look sloppy and unfinished.
There is no reason a modern assassin would need to know how to make bullets from scratch with no technology or specialized tools. A fraction of the effort that would take and you could make a bow and kill somebody with a gun.
most modern assassins don’t make there own bullets he may know the components to make it up but not to assemble at an expert level. His exprience is still very much real as he is able to trace, disguise or hide himself. he’s job is simply to use the weapon that he never once before ran out of, only now does he realise this would be a problem since this worl isn’t as advanced as his other world
I couldn’t make cordite from scratch, or a modern primer. Black powder is unlikely to work properly with most automatics, and would require decent primers. I could easily manage flintlocks and might make cap and ball revolvers, depending on what chemicals I have to work with. That’d be a lot of time, effort, and resources, as well as some trial and error that likely involves explosions. Black powder is bad enough. Mercury fulminate is outright evil.
