I’m sure it’s more than that since it’s the entire premise or whatever, but I too would assume that she lied about the rank to him. his jump to “betrayal” feels farfetched, and so does his place to become an explorer and somehow find out what happened. how is becoming an explorer going to help him when he can’t even fight??
I’m still going to read it because I like the vibe of the story so far but I just want to say I feel the author could have done a better job justifying his sudden desire to be an explorer.
