If they really believe the prophecy and now believe he's using hos powers to create doppelgangers then they're retarded for not killing him. Though it is kind of their fault for teaching him how to use his power.
They predicted his powers to be game like so maybe they thought he'd just revive unless he actually wanted to die but idk why they taught him how to use his powers it's dumb asf but ig it's plot progression
