Dont want to be asshole, but deep battle in that scenario? As a person with some informal knowledge about doctrines, I can say, you have chosen the worst of all for the doctrines for this. I can understand that might be intentional, I still feel like I should say it was one of the dumbest decisions… Why you may ask? Deep Battle doctrine, was developed by Mikhail Nikolayevich Tukhachevsky and some other guy whose name i forgot, focuses on penetrating enemy artillery and infantry to cause disruption and uses tank corps to cause breakthroughs. Its not suited for small operations like the one in one of the chapters, it utilizes massive frontlines and enormous resources and manpower. I forgot to say its not meant for single battle, it was made for slow but certain erosion of enemy’s ability to fight. For example Operation Bagration showed that deep battle is extremely effective especially while using art of deception. I would instead of deep battle use superior firepower or mobile warfare (i think blitzkrieg could work if executed properly) but deep battle was not the right doctrine.
