nah, is not a normal speed. The mc is retarded : Yo see a fcking screen in front of you and just dismiss it as hallucination? … If you are not on drugs, trust me that aint an hallucination so… the mc ignored his power up`. Ignored all the clues… The most surreal thing here is how the f did he get a job.
It’s not uncommon for people to hallucinate when being awake for too long, or sort of daydreaming. Since it was late at night, and we can assume he functions off of minimal sleeping hours, it’s realistic to assume it’s a hallucination. You only say that because you read stories like this every day or week

That being said, when the weather starts to change and event proof of it being unusual, he should have reacted way early and asked himself questions and doing researches, eventually thinking about his late night “hallucination”.

What is everyone in the comment section talking about? The screen was weird but unresponsive considering that he didn’t have coins right? And in a regular work day, if there’s weird weather doesn’t mean everything’s cancelled, you still have to go in and think about your job while considering going later or tomorrow for your stock. A system screen popping up doesn’t automatically mean zombie apocalypse, he’s actually weirdly aware of the genre to think of that.
