Fr that shark had it coming just for being so unusually persistent. Even if it smelled blood from the MC, it can still tell that the thin and bony human isn’t like the usual meaty prey and therefore not worth such hassle after the first two bite attempts.
I’m a bit more creased about why the MC didn’t just immediately get to climbing back up the cliff from the water to just escape the shark quickly, and instead stayed to fight the huge shark in his injured state as if his IQ points drifted away in the current.
