Synopsis

This is surprisingly better than it looks. The mc being timid and a pity party may be a turn off for most, but the story was expertly crafted around that premise that it starts to be enjoyable

The fights are amazing, the MC is garbage. No, I’m not talking about him being a wimp, it’s the opposite actually. He’s a two-faced, emotionally-manipulative liar who abuses his best friend while everyone around puts up with him because he’s strong.

If he’d just own his nastiness, sure, fine. But the author makes the plot revolve around his few good qualities while the world itself bends to accomodate his supposed ‘goodness.’ Multiple times, the monsters literally stop fighting him specifically so he can go be a do-gooder. They stand there while he waltzes off.

Sorry, I don’t read fiction to gaslight myself.
