Ngl I actually really like the twist that the “hero mistreating the secretly-overpowered MC” is actually explained by the hero legit just being controlled by brainwashing or a demon or something. Most other of these sorts of manga have the MC’s original party leader(s) be arrogant and abusive jerks for no reason, and they never grow from that point. But here, it turns out Leticia actually would normally be a good person to the MC if she wasn’t being mind-controlled by that demonic entity. It’s low-key a breath of fresh air for this specific genre, and a clever way to have the MC-mistreating party leader get a chance to be more of a fleshed-out character in the future instead of a flat jerk.

I low-key appreciate that the “Destined Hero” character being so nasty to Hal/Haru is actually explained by her legit being possessed by a demon or a ghost or whatever. Too many manga in this genre of “MC quits his abusive magic party but is secretly overpowered for his new party” have the jerk party leader be so entitled and rotten for no reason, but here it’s shown that this actually isn’t who she is and she would otherwise be nice to the MC. Pretty refreshing twist that I wish more of this genre would try out!
