I low-key appreciate that the “Destined Hero” character being so nasty to Hal/Haru is actually explained by her legit being possessed by a demon or a ghost or whatever. Too many manga in this genre of “MC quits his abusive magic party but is secretly overpowered for his new party” have the jerk party leader be so entitled and rotten for no reason, but here it’s shown that this actually isn’t who she is and she would otherwise be nice to the MC. Pretty refreshing twist that I wish more of this genre would try out!
