First off, this is Korean, not Japanese. Secondly, this is good writing, stop complaining. Maybe you've been brainwashed by all the manga and anime, but it's actually BAD writing to make a character's mindset change the moment they get power, except in certain cases. Trauma and conditioning don't just disappear like that. Would you expect a battered woman to act tough in front of her abuser just because a cop is next to her? No, nobody with common sense would. Even if she had a gun, she probably wouldn't, because that's what trauma does. Also, he is still weaker than Taiga so it makes sense for him to be scared still.
