Yeah,he should have said that since he won the life and death duel,and that he was interupted by the other party, Living him alone and alive was the basic thing to do,and he should have receveid compensation for that. However he was definitly coerced to join the cult, you can't say he was a pushover since he literrally refused at first, but if you have to choose between life and death,you choose death? the story end here,and you'll never get revenge.So, no pushover,but definitly airheaded since he forgot that being left alive was his basic right after winning the duel.
