You know, back in my gaming days, I used to heavily carry people as a Mage. You know, mages aren't meant to tank. But when you can outDPS the strongest players and pull aggro from the best tanks, it becomes habit to find ways to avoid dying. I mastered "kiting" and "tanking" as a mage.
When I first started though, no one helped me. I played solo, a LOT. At some point, I made friends and then they moved on. I was a F2P guy, and they were spenders, so I just simply stopped leeching because I couldn't catch up. I helped new players, carried new players and even taught many who went on to become "power house" players.
I don't understand WHY people treat noobs like crap.
If the person doesn't want to learn, I can understand. But if they are TRYING, why the hell would you make no effort? Especially in some games, where the person you humiliated etc, could come back and completely destroy you and force you off the game.
I have nothing against Noob/Newb. If they want to learn and earnestly try, then I will make the effort. Only those who don't make the effort, get abandoned. I can tell she is trying, she probably has trauma. But because she lacks formal training etc, she gets no help. And because she gets no help, she can never truly improve. The cycle continues. She gets older without improving, and then she's abandoned.
THE FUCK!?
Of course, I'm not just saying this because it's a girl. Especially since most of those I helped WERE guys. Only about 25% were girls back then. Girl Gamers were a truly rare breed back then.
