You have to understand, a LOT of novels ALWAYS have some truth mixed in.
It could be racial discrimination, dirty politics, assassinating "heroes" of a country, etc.
Throughout history, there were many heroes. There were good Politicians etc. Look at Abraham Lincoln. Assassinated because of his attempts to Liberate Blacks. Look at the JFK incident, because people disliked his politics, he was assassinated.
Look at the current Russia. Putin has likely silenced countless "opposition". He also had his strongest opponent arrested.
So, whether it's stories or irl.
Humans truly are the most self-destructive.
If this world ever got invaded by Aliens or Monsters....or it suffered a Zombie Apocalypse etc..... Humanity wouldn't even last a damn month, before going completely extinct. Because as I said, novels and stories always have some truth to it, and the most glaring truth of all, Humans are Self-Destructive and Greedy.
