When Ji Que wakes up, he finds himself in a bizarre world of collapsing immortal mountains, ruined temples, evil spirits wearing human skins, and wild gods feasting on marrow.
At the same time, he gains a strange ability: the power to save up comprehension like money and spend it later. The more comprehension he accumulates, the more miraculous the things he can grasp.
Drawn into one uncanny event after another, Ji Que faces bone Buddhas who spit lotus flowers to “purify” all beings, old Daoist masters refining hearts and pills, and demons running rampant. Yet behind these monstrous horrors lies something even more terrifying, the human heart.
