Several decades have passed since monsters began overflowing into the world. The protagonist, who enrolled in an academy that trains qualified fighters, was always ranked at the very bottom in ability tests. Worse still, his presence weakened those around him, spreading debuffs that lowered their power. Because of this, he was branded as “useless” and a “burden.”

One day, while on an expedition, he was swallowed into a strange subspace and went missing. There, he encountered a being from another realm and learned the true nature of his power. Unlike normal magic, which manifests through output projecting one’s energy outward for attacks his ability was the opposite: input, the power of absorption. This hidden talent, known as “Magical Circuit Reversal,” allowed him to draw in and neutralize external forces.

The reason he had been weakening his comrades all along was because he was unconsciously absorbing their energy. Now, awakened to his true potential, he can nullify monster attacks by absorbing them, gather external power to strengthen himself, and finally step onto the path toward becoming the strongest.
