Log In to Commentok now i'm sure that the "gods" were technological/scientific peoples. My two theories are 1) this is the future of our current world and for an unknown reason science dissapeared (maybe the "gods" are survivors of an apocalypse event were the world lost all the technology/knowledge except for the knowledge of the survivors) and magic became a thing with time and 2) the gods are otherwoldly peoples who came from our reality (so science etc.) and used their knowledge for becoming god-like figures with enhanced magic thru science theory and technology (like black powder here). Then they decided to not teach autochthon people for avoiding making them too strong and menacing the gods status.
PS : I'm pretty sure MC will end with a gun/sniper ! He will trade his sling with one at some point, he already seen dwarf guns previously and know discovered black powder. He's only at a good craftsman away from it lol.
Oh yeah, 100% with these theories
