Well, more accurately, I don’t hate him so much as he disgusts me.
He physically and emotionally abused the heck out of a sick child that was his own flesh and blood, simply because said sick child couldn’t live up to his expectations, then did nothing to actually help that.
Now that he’s actually seeing him grow, he’s slightly remorseful, but that’s far too late.
Even disregarding that he’s his father, as a marquis and head of the household, he should have acted in a way that he wouldn’t have regretted in the future.

Kyle might’ve behaved like a pos but he was literally just a child, he was born with a terminal illness for ffs but his dad tried to train him in swordsmanship knowing it would only bring his morale down calling him useless always and kept getting angry with him. That’s not how you raise a normal child much less one with a terminal illness and the fact that he has to prove his worth to get support which is something parents do unconditionally.
