Interesting how well he captures the psychosis of defying social expectation. Makes me wonder if he’s been through it himself. Though, somehow I doubt it. Once you feel this way, there’s really no going back.
I still constantly try to speak my mind through words and online comments, but I know that nobody will give a damn. At best I’d get remarks about my lack of integrity or responsibility when I give my true views, once in a while someone would show faux pity or act ambivilent. But as for addressing the facts of what I posit? Nope, never. Of those respondents who’re outwardly open, they fall into their own psychoses; they can’t see beyond the societally-enforced ignorance without becoming lost in their own personal web of lies. Nor can I, unfortunately.
The lies I tell myself to remain ideologically coherent have led me to lack a psychosocial basis upon which I can fall back onto; as they say, no man is a monolith. The weight of the supposed responsibilty is too crushing, too unending, to endure alone.
I’m so tired of the purile idiocy peddled as fact and the basic misunderstanding proffered as truth. Humanity is in the process of becoming post-truth, and it will destroy itself, but there’s not much I can do to stop it. Nor do I want to anymore.
Humanity evolved to be social because socialization led to greater evolutionary fitness. By relinquishing that advantage, by turning all truth into lies, we’ve surrendered what makes us the apex predator. Our species may not die out entirely, no, but the humanity of today absolutely will. Nearly all the top “experts” of modern society are now hacks pretending to possess competency; nearly all those in power are corrupt, thoughtless, ideology-driven drones. Computers, technology, and science in general is in the process of dying off along with the best and brightest among us. This isn’t a doomsday prediction, it’s just a fact. And no, AI won’t replace us, because AI is based on our own logic and reasoning. Meaning… Chances are, AI will destroy itself, too.
Maybe this will change. Maybe people will see the hole they’re digging for themselves and all future generations. Maybe they’ll put down the shovel, remove the blocks on open communication, tear down the ideologically-driven sources of fake information, such as Wikipedia, ChatGPT, and Grok. Maybe news channels will go back to reporting news instead of the regime’s talking points.
But I doubt it. The hole is already so deep, so comprehensive, that even the “enlightened” talking heads have begun spouting less blatant lies. They still don’t speak the truth; they speak a lesser falsehood.
Perhaps this is the meaning of the so-called “Tower of Babel” in the bible. Not that they literally built a tower to heaven, but that humanity built a pillar of lies so vast and so deep into the Earth that they believed the flames of Hell were the light of salvation.
