unless it’s a translation thing… rebellion has nothing to do with winning/losing.
which makes this whole scene fall completely flat

So i know where you’re coming from because ‘rebellion’ has contextually been used for stuff like the good guys in star wars, and like the mc of persona games as a couple examples; but in english there actually is a neat difference here!

A Rebellion, historically, refers to an uprising or something to be / that was squashed; whereas a successful uprising is usually referred to as a Revolution. It’s a subtle difference, and you dont often see it mattering, but like a rebellion and revolution are basically the same thing grammatically right? But when talking about like the 13 original united states fighting against the british and king George, you never see it called the ‘American Rebellion’ but the ‘American Revolution’; same with how when the lower class of France fought against and eventually executed king Louis, people never refer to it as ‘The French Rebellion’. It’s not grammatically incorrect to say that the american settlers rebelled, or that the people of france rebelled, but there’s a subtly in the connotation of ‘revolution’ that implies a more positive result.

Not really sure how “Rebellion: Defiance” is supposed to be, in any way, better than just “Rebellion” in regards to that subtly; but my guess is that it’s supposed to represent his theme of struggling and supposed to be like him defying the (slightly) negative connotation of the term rebellion? But idk, ‘revolution’ seems like it would have been the more apt thing for the name (unless the author used a less strong name in the raws hoping to save revolution for later when he actually becomes strong enough to fight society or something like that).
