SL wasn’t original; Even SL used tons of existing tropes and motifs, including the summoning/spirit-enslavement/necromancy skills he had, which were overdone even by the time SL was written.
SL was just made rather well for those same tropes, that’s all.
It’s the equivalent of reading a xianxia series and calling it “Naruto powers”.
