Popular Psychopath [Novel] Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Chapter 24: Are You the Caller, Mr. Song Kyuha?

“Если ты не хочешь умереть, то немедленно уйди.”
*(If you do not want to die, fuck off right now.)*

The vicious shift in Kyuha’s eyes, coupled with the fluent Russian spilling from his lips, left the confronting foreigners completely bewildered.

“Что… что ты говоришь по-русски?”
*(W-What? You speak Russian?)*

Sergey, the apparent leader sporting a scruffy beard and a beanie, quickly composed himself. A sinister smirk curled his lips as he spoke, seemingly trying to calm his flustered comrades.

“Это лучше, потому что вы хорошо понимаЕте?”
*(That makes things easier. You will understand perfectly then.)*

Switching to broken, heavily accented Korean, Sergey laid out his demand.

“Hey, you there. Hand over the woman. We are taking her. Resist, and we will kill you.”

Having never experienced such a terrifying situation in her life, Gyeoul plunged into a state of sheer panic. Paralyzed by fear, she could only grip Kyuha’s collar with a white-knuckled intensity.

“What do we do…”

Lifting a hand, Kyuha gently stroked Gyeoul’s hair, offering quiet reassurance.

“It is okay, Gyeoul. Nothing is going to happen. You don’t need to worry.”

Contrasting sharply with the brutal atmosphere of the alley, Kyuha’s calm, steady voice washed over her. Almost like magic, her violent trembling subsided.

Strangely, the moment Kyuha declared that everything was fine and nothing would happen, the threat standing before them genuinely felt insignificant.

Yet, contrary to his gentle tone, Kyuha’s mood had plummeted into an absolute abyss.

For someone whose emotions rarely fluctuated, this was an exceedingly rare occurrence.

For the first time in a very long time, he felt a genuine, burning desire to kill.

He had been genuinely enjoying his day with Gyeoul. But the moment this pack of wild dogs appeared, threatening her with vile, lust-filled intentions, his mind turned to ice.

Fearing the sheer pressure of his killing intent might overwhelm Gyeoul, he suppressed it as much as humanly possible before addressing the men.

“Вы упустили шанс жить. Я буду убивать вас.”
*(You threw away your chance to live. Do not resent me.)*

The six foreigners turned deathly pale under the weight of Kyuha’s killing intent, stumbling backward in unison.

“Кто-то смотрит…? Это мы, капитан?”
*(What the hell are those eyes…? Sergey… are we really doing this?)*

Cold sweat drenched Sergey’s face. The situation had derailed violently from his expectations, leaving his mind in a chaotic scramble.

He had never felt such suffocating pressure or seen eyes that held such chilling malice, not even from the Spetsnaz mercenaries he had encountered in the past.

But having come this far, backing down wasn’t an option.

“Чёрт возьми! Там один парень, а у нас шесть. Если все вместе победят, мы сможем победить безоговорочно!”
*(Damn it! He is alone, and there are six of us. If we rush him together, we will absolutely crush him!)*

Perhaps emboldened by Sergey’s desperate scream, the remaining foreigners exchanged a look before grinding their teeth.

“Да, кузнечик прав. Если мы вбежим в один раз, то корейцы тоже не смогут что-то сделать.”
*(Yeah, Sergey is right. If we rush him at once, this Korean bastard won’t be able to do a thing!)*

With a feral roar, the shortest man at the front charged recklessly toward Kyuha.

“Умри!”
*(Die!)*

Without a flicker of hesitation, Kyuha raised his leg and delivered a clean, devastating kick straight to the man’s jaw.

*Crack.*

The impact was absolute. The man’s eyes rolled back into his skull, and he instantly crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

The entire sequence unfolded in less than five seconds. Kyuha’s expression remained so utterly serene that the others failed to comprehend what had just transpired.

“Что… что случилось?”
*(W-What… what just happened?)*

Kyuha turned to Gyeoul, flashing the warmest smile he could muster.

“Gyeoul, could you trust me and let go of my jacket for just a moment? I will clean this up quickly so we can head to the botanical garden cafe.”

*Flinch.*

Realizing she was practically clinging to his arm, Gyeoul hurriedly let go.

“Y-Yes… Please be careful.”

Strangely enough, she harbored zero fear that Kyuha would lose to these men.

“Thanks.”

Kyuha took a deliberate step toward the remaining five.

“Эй, ребята. Разве не стыдно, что я не могу справиться с этим? Быстрее набегай. Я занят.”
*(Hey, street rats. Aren’t you embarrassed? Standing there frozen because you can’t handle one man?)*

Their pride severely wounded, Sergey and his gang glared at Kyuha with venomous hatred.

“Не сожалей. Я просто убью тебя. Эй! Забегай за один раз.”
*(Do not regret this. Hey! Rush him all at once!)*

“Дибил!!!!”
*(Son of a bitch!)*

The five men lunged at Kyuha simultaneously.

The heaviest of the group dropped low, intending to tackle Kyuha’s legs, but met Kyuha’s knee squarely in the face. His nose shattered on impact, and he collapsed in a heap.

*Thud.*

Ignoring their fallen comrade, the remaining four barreled forward.

Kyuha evaded every incoming strike with terrifyingly minimal movements. He struck back with casual, almost playful taps, yet anyone who caught a blow collapsed instantly, unable to rise.

It was inevitable. While the areas Kyuha struck fell under the category of ‘acupressure points’, they were virtually lethal vital points.

Without absolute control over the force applied, striking these areas would result in permanent crippling or immediate death.

He struck one man precisely in the Jianjing acupoint, located in the hollow of the shoulder. A massive cluster of nerves resided there; a direct hit sent a shockwave akin to electrocution through the entire body, draining it of all strength.

He systematically dispatched the rest using identical precision: the Yamen point located near the vocal cords on the neck, the Feng’an point nestled between the 7th and 8th ribs, and the Xiaoyao point guarding the kidneys. A single tap instantly neutralized each opponent.

“Guh-hk.”

Experiencing a level of agonizing pain they had never fathomed in their entire lives, Sergey and his gang couldn’t even muster a proper scream. Their eyes bulged grotesquely as they lay paralyzed on the ground, drool pooling beneath their mouths.

“Wow…”

To Gyeoul, the entire sequence felt incredibly surreal.

Kyuha spoke a few sentences in Russian, the foreigners rushed him, and then Kyuha merely tapped them—as casually as if he were on a leisurely stroll—and they all collapsed, unable to get back up.

The fact that this entire brutal conflict concluded in under five minutes made it feel even more detached from reality.

Once the situation was handled, Kyuha pulled his phone from his pocket and made a call.

“Yeah, Bonggu. I am so sorry for calling on your day off. It is nothing major, but I am in Uijeongbu right now…”

Knowing Bonggu’s family home was located in Uijeongbu, Kyuha asked him to drive over. He then dialed 112.

“Thank you for your hard work. This is the police, right? I am currently at…”

Kyuha provided a brief summary of the situation and their location before ending the call.

Since the foreigners writhing in agony wouldn’t be able to move a muscle for at least an hour, he had nothing to worry about.

“Gyeoul, what should we do? I think I need to hand these guys over to the police, so we probably won’t be able to make it to the cafe.”

Gyeoul waved her hands frantically.

“I am fine! We can go somewhere even better next time.”

“First of all, it won’t do us any favors if too many people see this. Let’s get you out of here before the police arrive. I already called Bonggu, so he should be here any minute.”

Right on cue, Bonggu’s car arrived in a cloud of dust, coming to a screeching halt.

“Gasp! Hyungnim! What on earth happened here!?”

Bonggu looked back and forth between Kyuha and the six foreigners scattered across the ground.

“Bonggu, I will explain everything later. For now, could you take Gyeoul home? I need to head to the police station to give a statement. I will tell you everything after that. Got it?”

Though his face clearly screamed that he had a million questions, Bonggu nodded obediently.

“Yes, Hyungnim. I will make sure Gyeoul gets home safely. Please, get in.”

Gyeoul stared at Kyuha with a complicated expression before speaking.

“Kyuha. I hope everything goes smoothly at the station. Let’s talk later. Thank you so much for saving me.”

As Bonggu drove off with Gyeoul, Kyuha’s gentle smile vanished instantly. His expression morphed into a terrifyingly desolate void as he looked down at the men.

“Если вы не хотите чувствовать ту же боль, собирайтесь в одном месте и коленитесь.”
*(If you do not wish to experience an even greater agony, gather in one spot and kneel.)*

As the low, chilling Russian command left his lips, the six foreigners instinctively dragged their broken bodies across the dirt, fighting through the excruciating pain to kneel in a single line.

“Пожалуйста, спаси меня. Спаси меня, пожалуйста.”
*(P-Please spare me. It hurts so much, please spare me.)*

This time, Kyuha unleashed his pure, unadulterated killing intent, letting it crash down upon them like a physical weight as he delivered his final warning.

“Если вы пойдете в полицейский участок, расскажите о преступлениях, которые вы совершаете до сих пор. Если я вижу вас в моих глазах, я попрошу вас убить вообще.”
*(When you get to the police station, you will confess to every single crime you have ever committed. If I ever see your faces wandering the streets again, I will make you beg for death.)*

Consumed by a primal terror they had never felt before, their spirits were utterly shattered. They answered through choked sobs.

“Я сделаю так. Я сделаю это безоговорочно. Пожалуйста, простите.”
*(We will do that. We will do absolutely everything you say. Please…)*

*WEE-WOO WEE-WOO*

In the distance, four police cruisers approached with sirens blaring and lights flashing. They pulled to a stop, and a man who appeared to be the senior officer stepped out.

Inspector Hong Sung-woong stared incredulously at the six foreigners kneeling obediently in a neat row before turning his gaze to Kyuha.

“Loyalty! Are you the caller, Mr. Song Kyuha?”

“Yes, that is me.”

“Could you explain the situation to me?”

Kyuha calmly explained that the six foreigners had attempted to assault him, and he had subdued them in self-defense.

He then added a crucial piece of information: he understood Russian, and based on their conversation, he strongly suspected they were involved in numerous other crimes, advising the officer to conduct a thorough investigation.

“You have done a tremendous deed. Honestly, we have been receiving countless reports about a gang of illegal immigrants causing trouble in this area, and it has been a massive headache… Ah! I apologize, but we will need a victim’s statement. Could you stop by the station for a bit?”

“Yes, understood. I will head there in my own car.”

After diligently providing his statement at the station, Kyuha returned home safely. Yet, somehow, the information leaked, and the following day, explosive news articles dominated the headlines.
