[Chapter 142] Ghost-Eyed Demon Lord Ma Seak
“Wh-what’s with these bastards!”
Faced with the 13th Black Gate Troop, who had shown up uninvited to pick a fight, Gisu and Gisang ran completely wild, and thus the brawl between the White Wolf Troop and the 13th Black Gate Troop began.
However, all the members of the 13th Black Gate Troop, who had been confident they would win overwhelmingly, were now utterly shocked.
The situation was unfolding in a completely different direction from what they had anticipated.
As soon as the fight started, every member of the 13th Black Gate Troop drew their usual weapons and charged in.
Yet, the White Wolf Troop faced them bare-handed.
To an outsider, it would have looked incredibly reckless.
But the White Wolf Troop had briefly assessed the 13th Black Gate Troop’s aura when they faced off, and judged that they could handle them perfectly well without weapons.
Therefore, without even making a prior agreement, all the members of the White Wolf Troop began taking on the fiercely charging 13th Black Gate Troop bare-handed.
The 13th Black Gate Troop found it laughable.
They were simply dumbfounded, wondering where these people had gotten the confidence to pull such a stunt against them.
‘They’ll only come to their senses after taking a proper beating and ending up crippled.’
‘Since it’s come to this, we’ll make them beg for their lives, they vowed.’
However, as time passed, it wasn’t the White Wolf Troop being pushed back, but the 13th Black Gate Troop.
‘How is this happening?’
It was beyond baffling.
The 13th Black Gate Troop had naturally assumed that the White Wolf Troop would be no match for them.
After all, aside from the time they had cut off the head of the Extreme Evil Lesser Demon, the White Wolf Troop hadn’t done anything to make a name for themselves in the Murim.
Even if they were the representatives of the three great martial troops of the Hebei Peng Clan, they were ultimately just people who protected a single clan.
In contrast, the Black Gate actively roamed the Central Plains, standing on the very front lines of fierce battles against the Orthodox faction and the Demonic Cult.
Of course, the most dangerous missions were handled by top-tier units like the 1st and 2nd Black Gate Troops, and even more critical ones by elites like the Soul Annihilation Troop. But that didn’t mean the 13th Black Gate Troop lacked actual combat experience or were weak.
So, they thought they would never lose, even if a fight broke out over this little provocation.
In fact, they had actually been worrying about how much they should hold back.
Yet they were only now realizing what a massive delusion that had been.
The White Wolf Troop even seemed incredibly accustomed to this kind of messy brawl, otherwise known as a dogfight.
Eventually, it didn’t take long before…
“Ughh…”
The only ones still standing upright in the area were the members of the White Wolf Troop.
Every single member of the 13th Black Gate Troop was sprawled across the ground.
In truth, this was an inevitable outcome.
The White Wolf Troop had already been acknowledged as strong by Soul-Chasing Twin Swords Jo Ilha, the Captain of the Soul Annihilation Troop and one of the top elites of the Heretic Alliance.
There was absolutely no way the 13th Troop, the lowest-ranking among them, even if they were part of the Black Gate…could stand a chance against them.
“Ha. These punks. They were acting that cocky when this is all they’ve got?”
“I know, right? I thought they’d actually have some skills.”
Gisu and Gisang brushed off their hands and laughed in disbelief.
They genuinely felt these guys were far too weak.
They didn’t know.
It wasn’t that the 13th Black Gate Troop was weak, but rather that the White Wolf Troop had become incomparably stronger than before.
“Looks like you guys don’t even hold a candle to the Soul Annihilation Troop, and yet you call yourselves the future of the Unorthodox faction? What a complete joke. Huh?”
As Gisu and Gisang shrugged and mocked them, the faces of the fallen 13th Black Gate Troop members flushed violently.
Eventually, one of them lost control of his anger and crossed the line.
“Argh! You bastards! Die!”
It was the same man who had confidently thrown a dagger to provoke Oh Chaemoo earlier.
With his eyes glaring fiercely, he threw a dagger in another surprise attack.
It was a killing blow aimed precisely at Gisu’s neck.
An attack that would end his life instantly if he failed to dodge.
However,
“Where do you think you’re aiming?”
Gisu dodged the attack with ease.
But just because he wasn’t hurt didn’t mean he wasn’t furious at the guy who had thrown a killing blow.
His temper flaring instantly at an attack precisely meant to kill him, Gisu snatched the man’s arm in a flash.
“This bastard keeps trying to kill people, huh?”
“Hey, hey! Go easy!”
Dogyeong, noticing Gisu had lost his temper, shouted belatedly, but it was already too late.
Craccck.
Using his own shoulder as leverage, Gisu snapped the man’s arm he had grabbed and slammed him straight into the ground.
“Aaargh!”
A horrific scream erupted from the man’s mouth.
“Oops!”
For a moment, Gisu made a face as though he realized he had messed up.
He should have held back, but he had reacted a bit too violently to the opponent’s killing intent.
He hadn’t intended to go this far.
From the looks of it, it wasn’t just a single arm bone that was broken; his entire shoulder looked completely shattered, hanging limply.
Seeing this, the other members of the 13th Black Gate Troop, who had barely managed to pull themselves up after rolling on the ground, ground their teeth and shouted.
“You sons of bitches! Do you even know who we are!”
“Do you think you’ll walk away safely after doing something like this!”
‘So it’s fine for you guys to swing weapons and throw killing blows against unarmed people?’
The White Wolf Troop, including the twin brothers, let out scoffs of disbelief at the 13th Black Gate Troop’s sheer audacity, any fleeting thought of having gone too far instantly vanishing.
“Ha. You guys still haven’t come to your senses, have you?”
Just as another uproar was about to break out,
“What is going on here?”
Someone had just appeared on the scene.
“Gasp!”
The sheer presence of the newcomer caused the entire 13th Black Gate Troop, who had been so full of themselves, to instantly shrink back.
Seeing their reaction, the White Wolf Troop wore puzzled expressions.
They wondered who on earth this could be, not even the Black Martial Emperor for these hopelessly wild punks to be so terrified.
The White Wolf Troop’s gazes turned toward the man.
Indeed, the aura faintly exuding from him was anything but ordinary.
It felt as though they were standing right in front of a ferocious beast.
For a moment, the entire White Wolf Troop nervously swallowed hard.
He was none other than the Ghost-Eyed Demon Lord, Ma Seak, the second-in-command of the Heretic Alliance.
“Who gave you permission to come here?”
“W-well, about that…”
Upon Ma Seak’s arrival, even the man who had been screaming terribly bit his lip until it bled to endure the pain.
It was a clear indicator of just how terrified they were of Ma Seak.
Slowly scanning the surroundings, Ma Seak smiled coldly.
His expression suggested he roughly understood what had happened.
They had clearly already gone at it, but the states of the two sides were starkly different.
The 13th Black Gate Troop looked like a complete mess, as if they had been rolling around on the ground, while the White Wolf Troop looked entirely unbothered.
“I see.”
They had come here, picked a fight they had been told not to, and gotten thoroughly beaten.
And these were men carrying the name of the Black Gate.
Ma Seak’s irritation flared at their pathetic state.
He then spoke with eyes colder than ice.
“All of you, return immediately and wait until disciplinary action is handed down.”
“B-but we were…”
“Disobeying the Alliance Leader’s order is enough reason to chop your heads off right here and now, and you wouldn’t be able to utter a word of complaint. Would you prefer I do that instead?”
“N-no, sir.”
“And you.”
Ma Seak approached the man who was groaning with his completely shattered shoulder.
“Yes.”
The man flinched and trembled.
Soon, Ma Seak’s eye glowed blue.
His gaze fell upon the man’s broken shoulder.
Ma Seak’s ghost eye saw everything.
The exact extent of the injury.
Before long, Ma Seak’s eye returned to normal.
He shook his head.
“It’s ruined.”
“Pardon?”
“As of today, you are expelled from the Black Gate. Go to the medical department, get treated, and leave this place within a few days.”
“I-I’m fine! The injury will heal soon!”
“No. It isn’t just the shoulder bone that’s broken; the tendons, nerves, and muscles have all been damaged beyond recovery. Furthermore, from the looks of it, you’re right-handed. Since you can no longer use your dominant arm, you are useless.”
“N-no! Please! Just one more chance…!”
*Thwack!*
The man was sent flying by Ma Seak’s fist.
Knocked unconscious in a single blow, the man slumped lifelessly.
Soon, Ma Seak’s murderous glare turned toward the rest of the 13th Black Gate Troop.
“I am currently holding back the urge to beat every single one of you to death right this instant, so stop annoying me, take that pathetic fool, and get the hell out of my sight.”
“Y-yes, sir!”
Unlike when they had arrived so arrogantly, the 13th Black Gate Troop hurriedly fled the scene with their tails between their legs.
“Thank you.”
Oh Chaemoo stepped forward to express his gratitude, as Ma Seak had, in any case, stopped a fight that could have escalated further.
However, the response he
