Every MC who has hidden their power has had a reasonable excuse for it.
In the case of superheroes, it’s so that the enemies they make don’t target their real lives.
In the case of OP MCs like these, it’s either so they don’t draw too much attention (again, making them a target), or that they reveal their weaknesses to their enemies (e.g. the MC’s only able to use 1st-circle magic right now).
