Did I miss something? If he can even transport water into the his dungeon, what’s stopping him from flooding the entire place for easy experience points? Everything he puts in there will most certainly die. Maybe even add some sharks for good measure.
Come to think of it, why not just convert the entire thing into an oubliette and fill it with spikes? No need to worry about his fighting force and only minimum maintenance required. (occasionally fix a broken spike or two)
