In an absolute Monarchy some royals think they could do whatever they want that's why she is acting that way. It's the same as Elizabeth bathory, she was a noble and her family was f'ed up beyond belief with pedos and rapists, and she killed women to bathe in their blood to supposedly stay youthful looking and it wasn't until she started going after other noble girls, nobles gave 0 fs about the commoner girls she killed, that they punished her by locking her in a room without a bathroom and bricked the door - she died surrounded by her own urine and feces, and they did not bring her food so she starved to death, that's how nobles were back in medieval times.
