I’d love to subscribe to this website because there are a bunch of interesting stories but the translations that look like they were copy pasted from chatgpt without actually reading where the speeches are going makes me stay as a freeloading reader.😫
I believe there’s a different translating team per story (though sometimes people work on more than one) so some stories will have good translators and other might have lazy translators, who might use chatgpt.
Fancier typesetting doesn’t turn MTL into a proper translation. I recognize all unsanctioned scanlations aren’t legit, therefore it’s harder to run a paid site whose selling point is quality… But that ain’t my problem. These people run a scam operation and then ask for $$$? If it’s so hard to do it without cash payment then don’t friggin’ do it. I am SO tired of the lowest common denominator rising to the top because the best anyone can do is halfass scams. I’m even more tired of people paying for said trash, therefore funding said scams.
To be clear, “translators” who use ChatGPT are not translators, they’re typesetters. Maybe QA or cleaners if they do additional touchups. But they are absolutely not translators.
